Dear Parishioners,
Sunday, September 8, is the day our church celebrates the Birth of the Blessed Mother. Since we celebrate the birth of our own parents, it makes sense that we honor Jesus's Mother and our Mother, too.
Congratulations to the Christian Mothers at St. Cecilia Parish, who are celebrating their 100th Anniversary today, Sunday, September 8, with a Mass and dinner at 3:00 p.m. 100 years! What a great spiritual legacy.
This week also marks the unfortunate 9/11 anniversary for our nation. There is so much violence and horror in the world still, that it's possible, I fear, to become numb to it and therefore, uncaring and forgetful in prayer. We must pray for victims, families and all who are involved in these painful and tragic events.
Once again, thanks to everyone on the committee who planned our first joint picnic. As well, thanks to all who attended. I am so pleased by the interest and excitement. Let's continue to pray for one another. All of our future adjustments will bring mixed blessings. God is with us, however, so all will be well.
