Our Parish Picnic is today, Sunday, September 1, from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at Brady's Run Park, the first of many more to follow, I hope. What's been hopeful and life-giving to me, is that this was a joint effort planned by a committee from all four parishes. It speaks to me of the things that are possible for us in the years to come. My thanks to everyone who has worked so hard.
School is back in session for everyone. May God bless all our students and their teachers in the year ahead. This means that it's also time for registration for Religious Education. Currently we have one Saturday program and three Sunday morning programs. You may register in any program you like. It's the same curriculum at all four.
Monday is Labor Day, September 2, the last of the official summer holidays. Our Mass schedule is: 7:30 a.m. Saints Peter and Paul 8:30 a.m. Holy Family 9:00 a.m. St. Cecilia and St. Felix No evening Masses The parish offices will be closed Monday, September 2.
St. Frances Cabrini is offering the Protecting God's Children Workshop on Saturday, September 7, 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. While this is required for all parish volunteers, it's really a great option for anyone to attend. It explains very well (and painfully) what the evils of seduction into sexual abuse can look like. The more educated everyone is the safer everyone is, especially the children.
Several times this summer, my parishioners have been bothered by texts and emails, supposedly from me asking for help or money. This is fraud. I would never do that. Oh, I might ask you for a favor, but it would be by phone or face- to-face. I apologize for any disturbance this nastiness may have caused.
