Today is the last of the special Sunday thematic feasts: The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ also known in its Latin form, "Corpus Christi".
Having celebrated the Resurrection, Ascension, Pentecost and Trinity, this feast focuses on the Eucharist. Why? It reminds us that in the tangibility of the Eucharist all those other truths are present too. In the Eucharist, the mysteries of heaven come to earth and into our body and soul.
This Friday is another important feast day, the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our Lord's pierced and broken heart is a powerful symbol of His love poured out for the human race. For all of our hurts, broken hearts and life wounds, Jesus' loving heart is our source of refuge and healing.
There will be a maintenance position opening at Saints Peter and Paul School. Contact the Beaver parish office if interested.
Next Saturday, June 29, is the feast day of Saints Peter and Paul. (At Beaver, it will be celebrated at the Sunday Masses, since it's the patronal feast.) Saturday evening there will be cake and punch in the school cafeteria following the 6:00 p.m. Mass. All are welcome.
